Refund & Withdrawal Policy

This policy explains how to withdraw from a cohort and what happens financially — before a cohort begins, after it begins, and if CVI cancels or postpones.

Refund terms are published here so they can be read before any payment is made. Nothing material is hidden behind an expander, a tooltip, or a payment step.

Effective upon publication. Last updated upon publication

CyberVisionaries Institute provides cohort-based professional learning and career-development programs. CVI is not a certified postsecondary school, does not award college credit or academic degrees, and does not guarantee employment, certification, apprenticeship placement, or admission to another program.

Key terms at a glance

Is the deposit refundable?
The deposit is non-refundable once the seat has been confirmed, unless CVI cancels or materially postpones the cohort.
Withdrawing before the start date
Tuition payments beyond the deposit are refundable.
Withdrawing after the cohort begins
The deposit and tuition already paid are non-refundable. Unpaid payment-plan installments may still be cancelled for services not yet delivered, subject to written confirmation from CVI.
If CVI cancels the cohort
The participant may choose a refund of tuition and deposit payments made directly to CVI for that cohort, or an offered transfer or credit where available.
How to withdraw
Submit a withdrawal request in writing through Request Guidance. The request date is the date CVI receives it.
Sponsored payments
Payments made by a sponsor, grant provider, employer, or other third party are returned or adjusted according to the applicable sponsorship agreement and payment source.

Scope

This policy applies to payments made directly to CyberVisionaries Institute for a cohort-based program, and to withdrawals from those cohorts.

Enrollment steps and seat confirmation are governed by the Enrollment Policies. Tuition amounts, deposits, and payment arrangements are governed by the Tuition & Payment Policy.

How to submit a withdrawal request

A participant must submit a withdrawal request in writing through the approved CVI contact channel. Request Guidance is the public channel until a dedicated enrollment-support channel exists.

The request date is the date CVI receives the written request. A phone call is not required, and CVI does not require a call as the only way to withdraw.

Withdrawal before the cohort begins

If the participant withdraws before the published cohort start date:

  • tuition payments beyond the deposit are refundable;
  • the deposit is non-refundable after the seat has been confirmed, unless CVI cancels or materially postpones the cohort.

This rule is published here so that it can be read before any deposit or tuition payment is made.

Withdrawal after the cohort begins

Once the cohort has begun:

  • the deposit remains non-refundable;
  • tuition already paid is non-refundable;
  • unpaid payment-plan installments may still be cancelled for services not yet delivered, subject to written confirmation from CVI.

There is no prorated or attendance-based refund formula. Amounts still owed after a withdrawal are determined by the accepted written payment arrangement.

If CVI cancels a cohort

If CVI cancels a cohort before it begins, the participant may:

  • receive a refund of tuition and deposit payments made directly to CVI for that cohort; or
  • accept an offered transfer or credit where one is available.

The choice belongs to the participant. CVI does not require a participant to accept a credit or transfer instead of a refund.

If CVI materially postpones a cohort

If CVI materially postpones a cohort start date, affected participants:

  • receive the revised date in writing;
  • may accept the revised date; or
  • may request a refund of payments made directly to CVI for that cohort.

If participation ends for conduct reasons

If participation ends because of a serious or repeated violation of the Code of Conduct, the financial outcome is determined under the accepted enrollment terms and applicable law. No automatic refund is promised, and no automatic forfeiture of all payments is asserted.

Exceptional circumstances

CVI may review documented exceptional circumstances individually. An individual review does not guarantee a refund, credit, transfer, or deferral.

A request does not require public disclosure of sensitive medical or personal details.

How approved refunds are processed

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where practicable. CVI confirms the outcome of a refund request in writing.

Third-party and sponsored payments

Payments made by a sponsor, grant provider, employer, or other third party are returned or adjusted according to the applicable sponsorship agreement and payment source.
