Enrollment Policies

These policies explain how an accepted applicant becomes an enrolled participant and how a cohort seat is confirmed.

Enrollment is a separate step from admission. The sections below describe what CVI requires, what a participant can expect in writing, and which policies govern payment and refunds.

Effective upon publication. Last updated upon publication

CyberVisionaries Institute provides cohort-based professional learning and career-development programs. CVI is not a certified postsecondary school, does not award college credit or academic degrees, and does not guarantee employment, certification, apprenticeship placement, or admission to another program.

Scope

These Enrollment Policies apply to every CyberVisionaries Institute program that enrolls by cohort, including Cyber Foundations and the PKI Career Pathway Cohort.

Program Enrollment pages may add cohort dates and operational details. They do not replace these Institute-wide policies. Where a Program page and this policy appear to differ, this policy describes the Institute-wide rule and the Program page describes the operational detail.

This page uses the term participant for a person enrolled in a CVI program.

Admission and enrollment are separate

An admissions decision does not by itself confirm enrollment. Submitting an application does not reserve a seat.

An accepted applicant becomes enrolled only after completing the required enrollment steps communicated in writing.

Those steps may include:

  • accepting the admissions offer;
  • reviewing the applicable policies;
  • paying the required deposit;
  • arranging the remaining tuition;
  • submitting required onboarding information;
  • completing any required prerequisite verification.

Enrollment instructions

Accepted applicants receive written enrollment instructions by email. Those instructions identify the applicable tuition, the required deposit, the steps to complete, and the dates by which each step is due.

CVI does not collect payment during the public application. Payment is only arranged after an admissions decision, through the written enrollment instructions.

Seat confirmation

A seat is confirmed only after CVI receives:

  • the required enrollment acceptance;
  • the applicable deposit;
  • any other required enrollment materials identified in writing.

Seat availability remains subject to cohort capacity, completion of enrollment requirements, and published deadlines.

Enrollment deposit

The deposit is part of tuition, not an additional charge.

  • The applicable deposit is identified on the Program Enrollment page and in the written enrollment instructions.
  • The deposit is applied toward tuition.
  • Refundability is governed by the Refund & Withdrawal Policy.
  • Paying a deposit confirms a seat only when all required enrollment steps are complete.

Enrollment deadlines

Accepted applicants receive enrollment deadlines in writing. Deadlines are set per cohort and are not published as a universal Institute-wide date.

Failure to complete the enrollment steps by the communicated deadline may result in the seat being released.

Payment arrangements

Tuition amounts, deposits, payment plans, invoices, and payment issues are governed by the Tuition & Payment Policy.

Payment plans may be available for eligible enrollments. Where a plan is offered, the installment schedule, amounts, and due dates are provided in writing before the participant accepts the plan.

Cohort capacity

Each cohort has a limited capacity so that live sessions, labs, and feedback remain workable. When a cohort reaches capacity, CVI may close enrollment for that cohort and discuss other options with accepted applicants.

Capacity is an operational limit, not a sales device. CVI does not use countdowns or urgency messaging to encourage enrollment.

Prerequisites

Program-specific prerequisites must be completed or verified before final enrollment where applicable.

Current prerequisites:

  • Cyber Foundations: no prior cybersecurity experience required.
  • PKI Career Pathway Cohort: successful completion of Cyber Foundations is currently required.

Deferrals and cohort transfers

Deferrals and transfers are not automatic. Requests are reviewed individually and depend on program availability, timing, capacity, and the circumstances of the request.

An approved deferral or transfer does not guarantee a future seat, the same tuition, the same schedule, or automatic transfer of payment. Any approved financial treatment follows the Tuition & Payment Policy and the Refund & Withdrawal Policy.

Participant-initiated withdrawal

A participant may withdraw from a cohort by submitting a withdrawal request in writing through the approved CVI contact channel. The request date is the date CVI receives the written request.

The financial outcome of a withdrawal is determined by the Refund & Withdrawal Policy.

Program changes or cancellation by CVI

CVI may occasionally need to:

  • reschedule a cohort;
  • modify delivery details;
  • change instructional personnel;
  • postpone a start date;
  • cancel a cohort.

Material changes are communicated to affected participants. Financial remedies for a CVI cancellation or a material schedule change are governed by the Refund & Withdrawal Policy.

Communications

Enrollment communication is by email. Accepted applicants and participants are responsible for keeping a working email address on file and for reviewing messages about deadlines, schedule changes, and payment arrangements.

Accessibility and accommodation requests

CVI aims to make its programs usable by participants with disabilities. A participant or accepted applicant may request an accommodation through Request Guidance, and CVI will discuss what is reasonably available for the program format.

A request does not require disclosure of detailed medical information. Information shared in a request is used only to review and respond to it.
